JavaGroups is a free of charge and open source trustworthy group communication based on IP multicast and configurable protocol stack.
JavaGroups is composed making use of Java and is offered for all main platforms, such as Mac OS X, Windows and Linux.

· Logical addresses avoid reincarnation concerns : when a member handle is IP:port and the port is fixed, then - when
· a member is restarted - it will get the same IP address and port. Therefore, for JGroups it is the * similar * member !
· Because a member's handle is linked with state (e.g. retransmission tables and seqnos) in different protocols, some
· protocols could delete the state, other might not (if they have not obtained the view excluding the member however ). This can
· lead to no messages becoming processed for a reincarnated member, or all messages staying queued.
