Data Recovery Guru is an easy to use OS X application that helps you recover deleted files.

Fortunately, in the majority of cases recovering the deleted files is possible without too much effort.

Data recovery utilities have been made possible and become very effective at what they do due to the fact that when a file is deleted from a disk or other media, the contents of that file are not lost.

A file delete operation is just updating the index at the start of the disk to say that the file has been removed, and labeling the section of the disk that the file occupies as free space.

If that free space does not get written over by new files being copied onto the disk, the file contents are still there, which is what these data recovery products search for.

NOTES:
· Using a disk in "Target Disk Mode" makes it an external drive.
· Making a disk image of the internal drive will allow you to scan that for your deleted data.

To download Data Recovery Guru via the App Store an Apple account is required.

Requirements:

· 64-bit processor

Limitations:

· Demo version does not feature the recovery option.
· The App Store version of Data Recovery Guru is restricted to scanning any device other than the internal drive.
