ting (ThreadING) is a simple and open-source C++ wrapper for threading (thread, mutex, condition variable, semaphore, message queue and message).
ting is not only a threading library, but it it is also Network Sockets API library. It also contains some other useful stuff, e.g. reference counted pointers etc. See WiKi page for what is there.
ting is cross-platform and it works on Mac OS X, Windows and Linux.
